“FUNNY BUSINESS COMEDY CLUB
MOVIN ON UP LIKE THE JEFFERSONS…?”

But to which side?

ASHEVILLE, NC, April 15th 2010/PRNewswire

April 15th marks the date for the last day of the Funny Business Comedy Club on the lower level of the historic S&W Cafeteria Building in downtown Asheville.

The popular comedy club will be relocating to a new venue that’s more accommodating to larger crowds and higher profile celebrity performers.

The Funny Business Comedy Club kicked off November 6th 2009 to rave reviews and sold out crowds. During one of the toughest winter seasons in recent history the club broke the trend around the country of struggling comedy venues and set record attendance numbers. The community’s response and support to live comedy gave the club the strength to give back and relocate to a nicer venue to better accommodate all who attend future shows.

"We had a strong vision for what we want Asheville's comedy club to be, and we just weren't able to execute that in the space we were in."-Eric Yoder, Manager of Funny Business Comedy Club.

The Jeffersons moved on up to the East side but where will Funny Business move?

“We've been presented with an exciting opportunity to move to a location that satisfies all of our acoustic, visual and service needs, and it was too good to pass up. We couldn't be more excited about the new club. Once the ink is dry, we'll be releasing more details, and once the paint is dry, we're going to have an opening weekend bash to show it off."-Laurel Gerencer, The Funny Business Comedy Club team.
